Why Loadouts?

At Tek Loadouts, we’re more than gear outfitters — we’re veterans, mission-builders, and unapologetic believers in preparation, resilience, and purpose.

Founded by Jake Isham and Shea Burke — two former U.S. military service members who know the importance of being prepared for austere environments. 

​

Shea comes from the tactical side of life. After serving with the United States Marine Corps Infantry during the Afghanistan troop surge in 2011-12, he found himself drawn to a new mission volunteering for Ukraine in March 2022. Shea found that the unforgiving reality of frontline operations underscored one irrefutable truth: the right equipment saves time, energy, and lives. From optics that hold zero under pressure to field tools that endure brutal conditions, Shea’s loadouts were tested where it matters most — in active defense of freedom and democratic values.

Jake brings the complementary skill set developed in his post-military career in digital marketing, e-commerce, and building scalable, user-first platforms. Having worked with brands and communities online, Jake understands what it takes to connect authentic purpose with people who care.

Together, we launched Tek Loadouts not just to sell gear, but to serve a community we love and respect.

Why We Started

​

We built Tek Loadout because too many military, defense, and tactical professionals — and the civilians who support them — were left to sift through countless products with uncertain performance. Gear lists and piecemeal equipment choices shouldn’t be guesswork, we knew there had to be a better way: trusted, mission-ready loadouts that are useful out of the box.

Shea’s time in Ukraine and watching the world become ever more chaotic and uncertain —our mission became crystalized. Amidst conflict, preparation, and a desire to defend democratic values, it reminded us that gear isn’t just stuff — it’s confidence, capability, and readiness for whatever comes next.
